Wednesday Wisdom

So today's quote actually has more significance than usual. The truth is I've been keeping something from you all - or rather just waiting to share that as of this SUNDAY I'm going to be leaving on a two week sailing trip through the British Virgin Islands!!

Of course, for the trip I'm absolutely hoping for smooth seas (in the past I've been known to get sea sick...). Needless to say, for me a smooth sea will actually be what I need to become a more skilled sailor - at least for now!

I do like the inspiration behind this quote though in regards to other facets of life - when times get tough try to turn them into a learning opportunity! Have a great rest of your week!

Mid Week Thoughts: Sept 10th

Hey there, sorry about the lack of post this Monday - I just didn't have it together earlier this week! But I'm working on my organization and will eventually get there.

As for now, a moment of reflection:

Anything is possible with the right attitude and hard work - so remember one day you'll be looking back amazed at what you've accomplished and where it all started.

Have a great week everyone!

Hump Day Reflections: September 3rd

Nothing is more admirable, attractive and inspiring than watching someone do something with passion. If your passionate about what you do - you can't fail.

Hope you all had an awesome three day weekend and are enjoying your shorter work week!

Hump Day Reflections: August 20th

For understandable reason this quote always brings a smile to my face - I hope it does the same for you. And serves as a reminder that our state of being is often dictated by our state of mind - choose to be happy and fill your days with activities and people that help you get there.

Happy Hump Day!

Hump Day Reflections: Sept 6th

Sometimes we all need the inspiration to get started on our bigger projects and goals - just remember that nothing can get done if it's never started. I've got a couple things on my horizon I'm looking forward to starting and will be sharing here soon.

Have a great Hump Day ya'll!

Hump Day Reflections: June 25th

Considering I'm on vacation I'm in the midsts of feeling quite carefree and giggly and thus decided to pick a similarly lighthearted quote for today's pondering.

Hope it brings you some laughter and a quick escape this Wednesday!

Hump Day Reflections: June 11

Being on vacation I felt this quote was a perfect fit for this week's Hump Day Reflections. While this vacation was only going home for me and not to some new adventurous place it's still so relaxing to be back and not be working.

Additionally, I might be the luckiest person around to call this beautiful California town home, so in a huge way this is most definitely a destination vacation.

Hope you all are having a warm and wonderful Wednesday.

Hump Day Reflections: May 28th

Recently I've been struggling a bit with my work life. When I moved to Boston I took a job as a waitress at a local restaurant and told myself it would be temporary while I figured stuff out. However, as time has passed in the position I've come to discover that it's actually a job that I really love doing. Then recently, I decided to change restaurants but instead, through a series of guilt-incuded decisions I've ended up working for two restaurants, 6 days a week - aka working my butt off.

Now there are a lot of things about this that I'm struggling with: my feeling as though I need to get an office job but not actually wanting give up serving, my dealing with and accepting that plenty of wonderful people make serving their completely viable "real job", and of course my putting my own desires and needs on the back burner when I attempt to be everywhere and do everything for everyone.

I chose this quote today as a reminder to myself to slow down, look around, remember that I love what I'm doing and find happiness in being lucky enough to do it - even if it's not forever, even if I'm doing too much of it and even if I have my struggles with it. At the core of it all I need to focus on the joy I get out of life - as we all need to.

Cheers!

Hump Day Reflections: May 14th

Maybe because I grew up on the ocean or because I truly feel that anything can be fixed by a good run but this has always been one of my favorite quotes and was an obvious choice for my first "Hump Day Reflection".

Wishing you all have a wonderful Wednesday!
